A Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers Duet Lost To Time
Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers recorded numerous duets over the course of their decades-long friendship. From “Islands in the Stream” to “You Can’t Make Old Friends,” they released some of the most memorable collaborations in country music history.

But one of those collaborations was lost in time. That song, titled “Tell Me That You Love Me,” has finally resurfaced after many years.
Rogers and Parton united on “Tell Me That You Love Me” in 2009. The song was included on a Time-Life compilation honoring Rogers, but that was it. After that, “Tell Me That You Love Me” vanished from print and never reappeared.
That is, until now.
You Can Finally Hear “Tell Me That You Love Me” Once More
After being lost for years, “Tell Me That You Love Me” is featured on a new, posthumous album from Rogers (who died in 2020). The new album, called Life Is Like a Song, was released on June 2.

Rogers’ widow, Wanda Rogers, compiled the ten songs featured on the new album and served as its executive producer:
“When listening to these recordings, it’s a beautiful reminder that everyone has experiences that these songs describe,” she said. “Kenny had a gift of expressing so many people’s feelings through his music and his voice. He reached millions, but because he was so humble, he didn’t realize the impact he truly had.”
In addition to “Tell Me That You Love Me,” Life Is Like a Song includes collaborations with Jamie O’Neal and Kim Keyes. Listeners can also enjoy Rogers’ covers of Lionel Richie’s “Goodbye,” the Temptations’ ” Wish It Would Rain,” and Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight.”
