LeAnn Rimes specifically asks for a particular piece of furniture in her dressing room and fans are calling it the “best idea ever.”
With a career spanning decades, LeAnn Rimes, the 41-year-old “I Need You” singer, naturally has established preferences for her pre-show routine. Similar to many celebrities, she includes specific requests in her rider to be present in her dressing room before each performance.
While some artists are renowned for their extravagant demands (such as Van Halen famously asking for a bowl of M&Ms with all the brown candies removed or Toby Keith requesting a specific brand of beer, a bottle of Jägermeister, and a bottle of Jack Daniel’s in his dressing room), we’re confident that LeAnn stands out as the only celebrity with this particular, and notably wholesome, request.
So, what is the singer’s unusual backstage demand? A rocking chair.
LeAnn explained, “I have officially asked for a rocking chair on my rider. And it’s because I’m now 41. No, I’m just kidding. It’s because when I’m home and I’m working on vocal stuff or warming up, I’ll sit on a bouncy ball…I figured the next best thing when I’m out here is to find a rocking chair. It’s really good to keep my mind off of focusing on things too much.”
LeAnn continued with a lively “rate my rocker” theme song as she evaluated chairs from her tour destinations in Illinois and Indiana (Spoiler alert: Lafayette, Indiana was leading with an impressive 8 out of 10 for its “flair.” Keep reading to find out which East Coast show eventually beat it out).
