Lauren Alaina’s Life Has Changed Drastically Becoming A Mom
Country star Lauren Alaina is no stranger to the stage and adoring fans, but nothing could have prepared her for her most life-changing role yet, being a mom to her newborn daughter, Beni.
During a recent conversation with Taste of Country Nights, Lauren Alaina revealed that when the anxiety about touring with a newborn began to set in, she turned to one of her biggest country idols for support, Martina McBride.
“Martina McBride, actually,” Alaina shared when asked if any country moms had reached out with advice. “She texted me a couple of weeks ago and talked to me about taking the baby on the road.”
Alaina admitted that she is nervous about taking little Beni on the road so young.
“I’m super freaked out to be leaving our home … and taking her on the road. I had no idea the world of being a mom,” she said.
Martina Knows Exactly What Lauren Is Going Through
McBride is no stranger to juggling motherhood and her career, as she once hit the road with Brooks & Dunn in the mid-90s while pregnant. With over three decades of experience raising her daughters, Delaney, Emma, and Ava, McBride offered not only empathy but guidance, making her the perfect mentor for this new chapter in Alaina’s life.
Prior to having Beni in June, Alaina admits she was a bit overconfident in getting back to tour life.
“I was like, ‘Yeah, 12 weeks? We’ll totally be ready then to hit the road,’” she shared. “And now we’re almost twelve weeks out and I’m like, ‘What was I thinking?’”
Lauren Alaina Speaks Out Against Those Who Mom-Shame
In a recent appearance on Taste of Country Nights, Alaina pointed out how quick people are to judge new moms.
“People assumed I’m not breastfeeding and they shamed me for it,” she said.
“Which, by the way, if I didn’t wanna breastfeed my baby, that is my decision, so I don’t know why people thought they could come for me,”she added.
Alaina has been open about her struggles with breastfeeding and has shared that Beni has had a hard time latching. Although they’ve seen feeding specialists, she explained that bottle feeding is what works best for them right now.
“I have friends that can’t breastfeed and they formula-fed their babies from the beginning and they’re fine,” Alaina continued. “People need to chill — like, who are you?”
