Lauren Alaina has shared the heartbreaking news that her father, J.J. Suddeth, died on the evening of July 23rd.
In a simple text post shared across her social media pages, the former American Idol star expressed that she does not “have words yet” to say more but let her followers know that she would be canceling her next three shows to go home and be with family.

The Georgia native had been traveling the country performing with Jason Aldean’s Highway Desperado tour.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding J.J. Suddeth’s death are unknown.

Lauren Alaina wrote an original song for the father-daughter dance at her wedding
Lauren Alaina married Cam Arnold on February 4th in downtown Nashville. During the reception, she surprised J. J. with a sweet original song that she had written for their father-daughter dance. Lauren shared:
“It was such a special moment during our wedding. I will truly never forget it.”
The song, titled “My Old Man,” serves as the soundtrack to the video recap of Lauren’s beautiful wedding day below, including the emotional moment when her father saw her in her wedding gown for the first time.
