Thomas Rhett & Wife Lauren Expecting Baby No. 5
Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren, are in an incredibly busy season of life.
In November, the two shared they were expecting their fifth child! They posted the exciting news in a video on Instagram.
The video began with a close up of Lauren fixing the camera and asked her husband, “You ready, honey?” As she walked away, Thomas began playing his guitar and singing lyrics from his 2017 song “Life Changes,” where he sings about his and Lauren’s life not going the way they planned, but in the best way possible.
Lauren began rubbing her belly when he sang, “Now Lauren’s showing, got one on the way, that’s….five under 10, hey what can I say?”
She then pulled out ultrasound photos to confirm that they were expecting their fifth child. Shortly after the announcement, Thomas confirmed Lauren was due in March, but they were waiting until birth to reveal the gender.
Lauren Shares Her Sister Is Battling Cancer
And while the country music singer and his wife are eagerly expecting their fifth little bundle of joy any day now, Lauren also shared this week that her sister has sadly been diagnosed with breast cancer.
“Carrying so much joy and anticipation as well as carrying a lot of heavy and sadness in this season. It feels so hard and unnatural and sometimes wrong to feel both but these are my days right now,” Lauren captioned the post.
She included a carousel of images, alternating photos of her with her children and then with her sister.
“So grateful for another little life growing in our family and also heartbroken that my little sister is walking through a valley that feels so hard. It’s okay to feel both. I know our Father can handle any emotion (or hormone) I throw at Him,” she continued.
Lauren shared how her faith has carried her through this time, and thanked her community for rallying around their family during the unimaginable.
“I am so grateful that Jesus has been so near. So near to our family and community supporting Macy and even more near I think to Macy-she is truly letting the Lord fight for her (Exodus 14:14) and He has given her such strength and bravery and her faith has grown tremendously 💛 We can feel Him sustaining us all and we are believing He will be glorified in it all-on the mountain tops and in the valleys 🤍🤍,” Lauren wrote.
She then explained that her sister recently began chemotherapy, and is thankfully doing well. Lauren then talked about their precious baby coming soon, and the bond the sweet little one will share with her sister.
“…we cannot wait to kiss the sweet face of this baby boy or girl 😍🥰 and I can’t wait for my sister to hold this sweet little babe and love on him or her in a way that only she can 🥰😭🩵🩷”
