Lainey Wilson Recently Got Engaged – See Her Beautiful Ring

Lainey Wilson has celebrated two major events in just a matter of days—she got engaged, and her song “4x4xU” became a #1 hit!

Wilson had been dating former NFL star Devlin “Duck” Hodges since 2021. After their first date, she predicted he would be the man she’d marry.

The couple kept their relationship secret for two years. They finally made their public debut at the 2023 ACM Awards.

Since then, Wilson and Hodges have shared their love for each other at various events and awards shows. They also post cute photos of one another on social media.

Additionally, several of the songs on Wilson’s latest album, Whirlwind, are inspired by her relationship with Hodges. Those songs include “Counting Chickens” and “4x4xU.”

Wilson referenced the latter track when she announced her engagement to Hodges on February 12. She wrote, “4x4xU forever” alongside several photos of the proposal, which took place on the steps of a gorgeous home that once belonged to George Jones, one of Wilson’s favorite singers.

Wilson also showcased her stunning engagement ring in the pictures and a video included in her slideshow.

Lainey Wilson’s “4x4xU” Cruises To #1

Just days after her engagement, Wilson celebrated some more happy news, as her song “4x4xU” reached #1 on the Mediabase chart.

Wilson released “4x4xU” in September 2024 as the second single from Whirlwind. It started a steady cruise up the charts before finally parking at the #1 spot on the Mediabase chart.

At the time of this writing, the track has reached #4 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and #10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

As mentioned previously, “4x4xU” is a love song inspired by Wilson’s relationship with Hodges. She told Rolling Stone it is:

“…about finding that someone that gives you the comfort and peace of home anywhere in the world as long as you’re by their side.”

The song includes romantic lyrics such as, “Boy, after a long day, you know there ain’t no wrong way, to drive my crazy crazy, in a 4×4 by you.

Considering that Wilson’s love for Hodges inspired “4x4xU”, it seems like destiny that the song hit #1 right after their engagement. Congratulations!
