Lainey Wilson Shares Her Future Dreams With Fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges
Lainey Wilson has reached superstar status over the past few years, but ultimately she’s just a regular girl that hopes to one day be a mom.
Wilson and her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, have been together since 2021 but kept their romance private for quite some time before sharing that they were together. Hodges has built a successful real estate career since retiring from the NFL in 2022.
It wasn’t until 2023 that they made their public debut by walking the red carpet together at the ACM Awards. In February 2025, they announced that they were engaged with a sweet set of photos from the special moment.
In a July 2025 interview with People, Wilson shared the number one thing she and Hodges prioritize to keep their relationship happy and healthy.
The most important part of making it work, according to the “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer, is simply setting aside quality time for one another.
“You have to definitely carve out the time,” Wilson said. “It has to be something that you’re very aware of, and you’re like, ‘Okay, I’ve got a day off here in 10 days. I’ve got to dedicate that day to spend time with my person.”
Despite her incredibly demanding schedule, Wilson says Hodges is her “biggest cheerleader,” and always there to support her.
“We don’t get to see each other all the time, and I do live a lot of my life on the road, so we’re also kind of figuring it out as we go, which is fun.” she said.
Lainey Wilson Says She’d Love To See Duck Be A Father
While Wilson has mentioned the couple’s wedding is in the works, it’s unknown as to an exact date. However, she seems to already be dreaming of their future life together.
In a recent interview on the No Filter podcast with Kate Longbroek, Wilson opened up about what she envisions her life to one day look like.
“We definitely want to have a family, you know, time is ticking. Time is always ticking, yeah. But I think him and I would both be good parents, and I’d love to see him be a dad,” the singer shared. “We’re gonna get married, we’re gonna do the whole thing, and kids will be later. But we’re definitely going to do it.”
She has also mentioned in earlier interviews that when they do have kids, she hopes to raise them with a simple, outdoors-focused upbringing similar to the small-town childhood she had in Louisiana.
