Lainey Wilson is finally opening up about wedding plans nearly a year after getting engaged.
Lainey Wilson and her fiancé, retired NFL player Devlin “Duck” Hodges, got engaged last February after he proposed on the front porch of George Jones ‘ former Tennessee estate.
So far, the couple has stayed pretty quiet about wedding details, leaving fans wondering when they’ll finally say “I do.”
One big reason is timing. The “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer has opened up before about how tough it’s been to plan their wedding. It hasn’t been easy trying to lock in a date that works with both her and Hodges’ busy schedules.
Wilson did hint at when the wedding might happen while hosting the CMA Awards back in November, though.
During her acceptance speech for Entertainer of the Year, she briefly confirmed that they’ll tie the knot in 2026.
“I’mma be honest with y’all. I was just so tickled to be here hosting this thing tonight. I just came into here just wanting to celebrate country music, the love of my life and I know the love of so many of y’all’s lives,” she said during her speech.
She then thanked Hodges before exclaiming, “We’re getting married next year, come on now!”

That was the last (and most) fans had heard about Wilson and Hodges’ wedding plans. However, that changed Sunday night, February 1, at the 2026 Grammy Awards, when Wilson shared a few more details about her big day.

Lainey Wilson Reveals Details About Upcoming Wedding
While walking the red carpet at the 2026 Grammy Awards, the country star told PEOPLE about some of the things she considers “must-haves” for the ceremony.
For starters, she said it’s important that she’s surrounded by the friends and family she loves most.
“I just want it to be about what it’s supposed to be about,” Wilson said. “I want my family to be there, like my closest family, like my mama and daddy, sister and her kids. I want good music, good food.”
As for the menu, she envisions a mix of food that represents both her and Hodges.
“Well, I’m from Louisiana, so maybe a little bit of, like, a Cajun flare. My fiancé likes a good steak. So it might just be a mixture,” she added.
Needless to say, Wilson’s wedding is surely going to be a day to remember, and fans can’t wait to see the beautiful celebration she and Hodges put together!
