Lainey Wilson Recorded “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!” As A Virtual Duet With Legendary Bing Crosby
On October 3, Bing Crosby’s official Instagram account announced a new duet between the late legend and country singer Lainey Wilson.
“Christmas is starting early this year! Bing Crosby and @laineywilson have come together for a brand-new duet of ‘Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!'” the caption read. “We hope this duet brings a little extra warmth and cheer to the start of your holiday season.”
Crosby, who passed away in 1977, first released “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!” on his 1962 album I Wish You a Merry Christmas. The song was first released in 1945 by Vaughn Monroe, and covered by countless singers of all different genres including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Doris Day, Carly Simon, Rod Stewart, Michael Bublé, Pentatonix, and now, Lainey Wilson!
The Song Now Has An Animated Music Video
On Thursday (December 4), Wilson announced that her duet with the late legend had an accompanying music video with some help from Hershey!
“Step into my snowy little daydream,” the country star wrote on Instagram alongside a short clip of the video, which featured both her and Crosby as cartoons. Hershey included their chocolate products in the video, but it was perfectly weaved into the storyline that didn’t make it feel forced!
Her caption was perfect because if you watch the full video, it starts off in real life as Wilson looks into a snow globe and gets transported into a magical, snow-filled daydream.
As her animated character heats up hot chocolate in the microwave, she blows a breaker and all the power goes out. When she goes outside to switch it back on, she gets electrocuted, but thinks nothing of it.
She continues doing things around the house, including attempting to heat up her hot cocoa again when a pair of mice intercept her match to light the fire and try to steal her tray of Hershey chocolate bars. As she tries to heat up her mug once more, she is interupted by someone at her door.
It was a man in a frozen block of ice! She warmed him up by pouring her hot cocoa down his smoking pipe!
Wilson goes back to the stove to make the last bit of cocoa she has left, but is interrupted once again by the door. It’s the man again wanting more cocoa! She declines and is about to take a sip, but a duck barges in because its being chased by her dog, Hippie Mae! One can only assume the the duck character is an homage to her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges.
Trying to avoid the animals, Wilson spills her cocoa all over the floor, which made steam erupt from her ears. She ended up pouring milk and Hershey’s chocolate syrup right into her mouth to satisfy the chocolate craving she had.
