Lainey Wilson’s Engagement Took Place Right In Front Of The Former Home Of Country Legend George Jones

On February 12, Lainey Wilson and her boyfriend of four years, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, announced that they were engaged. The couple shared the exciting news through a series of photos and videos posted to their social media.

Fans noticed that Devlin proposed to Lainey in front of a beautiful brick house, and it didn’t take long for them to realize that it was the former home of country icon George Jones.

As fans continued to dive deeper, they discovered that the mansion, sitting on 25 acres of land, was actually on the market.

This sparked a lot of speculation that Lainey and Devlin had purchased the property and were the new owners of the iconic estate.

However, Lainey clarified that the rumors were not true.

During a recent interview on the Kelleigh Bannen Show on Apple Music, the “4X4XU” singer explained the real reason her now-fiancé chose George Jones’s former home to pop the big question.

“We’ve been trying to go see it for a while, and one of Duck’s buddies was listing it for sale,” Wilson explained.

“He had it all staged. Mandelyn [Monchick], my manager, and her boyfriend were supposed to be meeting us and all this stuff just to go look at it because I was like, ‘I want to go see where George Jones lived.’ And then we showed up, and they weren’t there. And he had in front of the door, it was candles and picture frames and it was beautiful.”

In the same interview, Lainey also admitted that wedding planning hasn’t really started yet. She and Devlin haven’t even picked a date, but she does know one thing for sure.

People have wondered whether or not she’ll wear her signature bell bottoms on her wedding day, considering she’s rarely seen without them, but Lainey has confirmed that she definitely wants to wear a dress for her special day.

“We got some time, but I figured, you know what? I hadn’t worn a dress for him yet, and I guess that would be the day to do it,” she said.
