Lainey Wilson Admits She “Needs Some Help” With Wedding Planning
Lainey Wilson is quickly learning just how challenging planning a wedding can be.
Back in February 2025, Lainey Wilson said “yes” to marrying her longtime partner, former NFL player Devlin “Duck” Hodges, after he proposed on the front steps of George Jones’ former Tennessee estate.
It’s been over a year, so you might think Lainey and Devlin have most of their wedding planning behind them. But that’s not the case…

The “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer has been honest about how little planning they’ve done so far. In their defense, their packed schedules have made it extremely difficult to work around, so things have taken a lot longer.
Lainey’s just taking things one day at a time, though she admits she could probably use an extra hand getting everything done.
On March 9, the Grammy-winning artist shared an update with PEOPLE while attending the Los Angeles premiere of the upcoming film Reminders of Him, where she’s set to make her movie debut.
“Girl, I need some help. I need some help,” she jokingly said about wedding planning. “It’s going good. Honestly, we’re taking our time, and I’ve told him, and he’s on the same page.”
At the end of the day, Lainey isn’t letting the planning stress her out too much. She and Devlin are just focused on making sure they have fun with it all.
“We just want it to be about what it’s supposed to be about and just enjoy it,” she added.
Lainey Shares Her Wedding “Must-Haves”
Lainey and Devlin may not have many details set in stone for their big day, but they do have a few ideas about what they want it to look like.
While walking the red carpet of the 2026 Grammy Awards, Lainey shared a few of her “must-haves” for the wedding.
“I want my family to be there, like my closest family, like my mama and daddy, sister and her kids. I want good music, good food,” she told PEOPLE.
As for food, she’s hoping to find a variety of cuisines that will represent both her and Devlin.
“Well, I’m from Louisiana, so maybe a little bit of, like, a Cajun flare. My fiancé likes a good steak. So it might just be a mixture,” she said.
