Team Legend’s Kristen Brown shines during the playoffs round of The Voice.
Season 24 of The Voice is in full swing, with just 24 contestants left going into the playoff rounds. During playoffs, each coach has six team members which they will need to narrow down to only three before advancing to the live shows. During the live shows, contestants will compete for America’s votes and one will emerge as the winner and be declared “The Voice.”
So far this season, contestants have been giving it their all, and this week was no different. Kristen Brown, who was originally on Team Gwen but was saved by coach John Legend, delivered a powerful and heartfelt performance of Lady A’s “Need You Now.” Brown looked stunning in a beaded dress and white cowboy boots.
Lady A originally released “Need You Now” in 2009.
“Need You Now” was recorded and released by country music trio Lady A (known at the time as Lady Antebellum). The band co-wrote the song with Josh Kear, and produced it with Paul Worley. The song spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in late 2009. It went on to win four Grammy Awards in 2011, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
Will we see Kristen Brown in the live shows?
Unfortunately, despite a beautiful effort, Kristen Brown’s performance did not earn her a spot in the Top 12 and she will not be advancing to the live shows. Regardless, she has a lot to be proud of and we hope this is only the beginning of her career.
