Kimberly Perry, lead singer for The Band Perry, has filed for divorce from her husband of nearly 4 years, J.P. Arencibia.

The 34-year old singer filed the paperwork on Friday (March 3) and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

Perry took to Instagram Sunday night to confirm the news, saying,“Yes it’s true, my marriage has come to an end. I know that beauty will come from these ashes and, as always, I want to thank you all for your love and support. I’ll be in touch soon.”

Perry first met Arencibia, a former MLB player, in February 2012 at the Florida Strawberry Festival. Arencibia asked some of their mutual friends to introduce him to Perry. A year-and-a-half later he proposed to Perry in her parents’ back yard.

The following June, Perry and Arencibia wed at the First Presbyterian Church in Greeneville, Tennessee. Carrie Underwood, Mike Fisher, Blake Shelton, and Miranda Lambert were just a few of the celebrities in attendance.
