Kevin Costner brought a cinematic moment to life at MLB’s Field of Dreams game.
As the day’s pregame festivities came to a close, Costner, who portrayed Ray Kinsella in the 1989 movie, Field of Dreams, made a glorious return to Dyersville, Iowa. The actor emerged from the cornfield surrounding the stadium just before the game, followed by New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox players. The entrance mirrored one of the most iconic scenes from Field of Dreams.

After arriving on the field, the actor also made a speech to the crowd. He gave the nod to his legendary role and highlighted the dream of Major League Baseball. Costner explained:
“Thirty years ago, on the other side of that corn, we filmed a movie that stood the test of time. Tonight, thanks to that enduring impact that little movie had, it’s allowed us to come here again. But now, we’re on a field that Major League Baseball made. We’ve come to see the first-place White Sox play the mighty Yankees in a field that was once corn. It’s perfect. We’ve kept our promise, Major League Baseball has kept its promise. The dream is still alive.”
