Hollywood gathered Sunday night (Jan 7) for the 81st Golden Globe Awards. The annual ceremony honors the best in film and American television production. Stars from every facet of the entertainment industry were in attendance to celebrate the honorees.

Kevin Costner and Harrison Ford sat together for a chat at a table in the front row of the Golden Globes. They both look sharp in black tuxedos and appeared to be having a close discussion. Despite each being a Hollywood legend in their own right, this noteworthy duo represents different eras of the Yellowstone franchise.
Posted from the official Yellowstone social media account, the caption paired with the photos referenced the series and made a fun suggestion as to what the two leading actors might be discussing:
“‘This is how we’re gonna save the ranch.’ (Probably.)”
Kevin Costner also added a comment to the post, calling Harrison Ford “a legend.”

The relationship between 1923 and Yellowstone
1923 is a prequel to the wildly popular series Yellowstone in which Harrison Ford plays Jacob Dutton, a resilient rancher the patriarch of the Dutton family. In the show, Jacob takes over the Yellowstone Dutton ranch after his brother James dies.
Set a few decades later, Yellowstone stars Kevin Costner as John Dutton, a descendant of the Dutton family and one of the most well-known ranchers in Montana. While the exact relationship between characters Jacob Dutton (Ford) and John Dutton (Costner) has not been confirmed, a close evaluation of the show’s timeline would suggest that Jacob is John’s great-granduncle.
This relationship between Costner and Ford’s characters makes these photos from the Golden Globes even more memorable.
Kevin Costner was a presenter at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards
Kevin Costner won the 2023 Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role in Yellowstone but could not attend the ceremony due to intense storms which forced him to shelter in place at his Santa Barbara home.
This year, he did not receive any nominations but was invited to be a presenter at the awards ceremony. He presented the award for Best Television Female Actor – Musical/Comedy Series alongside actress America Ferrera.
