It’s been a year since Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock, and now, the singer is hoping to make more progress in their separation.
According to documents obtained by US Weekly, Clarkson, 39, and her legal team filed a motion to terminate her marital status. If granted by a judge in a separate trial, Clarkson would be declared legally single while the couple continues to resolve the divorce. The publication also obtained a notice from the court. The documents suggested that both parties convene to resolve lingering issues within the divorce.

While Clarkson is ready to be legally single, the star is not prepared to find love again anytime soon. On an episode of her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, the “Stronger” singer admitted:
“Coming from someone who’s literally amidst a divorce, I can’t even imagine doing it again. I’m actually in that place where I think a lot of people, I’ve heard, go through [in a] divorce. It’s almost like you start dating yourself again, like you actually make time for you again, and I love dating me. I’m actually not looking for [love].”
