Kelly Clarkson’s rendition of Ella Langley’s “weren’t for the wind” will blow you away, pun intended.
On the Wednesday (Dec. 3) episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson once again took the stage to cover a song she’s been loving as part of her regular Kellyoke segment.
Ever since she started the popular karaoke series in 2019, Clarkson has proven that she can sing just about anything. Over the years, she has taken on almost every genre you can think of.

Even so, she’s always had a soft spot for country music. The three-time Grammy winner has covered songs by artists such as Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Dolly Parton, and many others.

This time, Clarkson took on Ella Langley’s 2x Platinum hit “weren’t for the wind,” which was originally released in 2024 as part of Langley’s deluxe version of her debut album, Hungover.

Clarkson wore a full denim jumpsuit as she belted out the lyrics, with her band, My Band Y’all, playing right behind her.
When she finished, she walked off stage to speak to the audience and share some kind words about Langley.
“She’s really good. I like her music,” Clarkson said. “She’s very clever, really rad voice and tone. Y’all should check her out if you don’t know about her already.”
When the performance was shared on Instagram, Langley saw it and couldn’t help but respond. She was one of the many people in the comments praising Clarkson for her cover.
“Insane!!! 🤯🤯,” Langley wrote. Other messages left by fans included:
“I’ve watched this like 50 times”
“Kelly’s tone hits differently. Her storytelling skills are out of this world, imo.”
“congratulations Ella! You’ve been #Clarksoned 😍❤️🙌”
