Derek And Hayley Hough Welcome First Child
Professional dancer and television personality Derek Hough welcomed a baby girl with his wife, Hayley Erbert, on December 29th, 2025. After a week of soaking in newborn bliss, the new parents announced the arrival of Everley Capri Hough on Monday, January 5th.
Along with an adorable black-and-white photo of the newborn’s feet surrounded by her parents’ hands, Derek wrote:
“Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed.”
The couple, who were married in 2023, had previously experienced a pregnancy loss in 2024. As a result, Derek and Hayley have shared how their “rainbow baby,” Capri, is a miracle. About a month after her birth, Derek shared a stunning video of himself holding his daughter, with a rainbow in the distance. He wrote:
“Rainbows have been part of Everley’s journey from the start; one showed up at her baby shower, another on Christmas Day, around when she was due.”
Derek Hough Talks About Fatherhood
Derek Hough was a featured guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show on March 17th. The DTWS pro shared an update on dad life and expressed how it is “the best thing ever.” He reflected on how his daughter comes first, and now, many things in life seem insignificant.
“She has just grounded me. She’s centered me. She is the center of my world,” he shares.
Kelly joked that the dancer was “destined to be a girl dad” as he grew up with four sisters. Derek adds that, while he is used to being around his numerous nieces and nephews, nothing compares to having your own child.
“Being there, witnessing the birth – the birth of my child – it’s just life-changing, it really is.”

Later, Kelly Clarkson told Derek they had a gift for him, “because it’s funny.” An assistant for the show handed him a green onesie with a surprise printed on the back.
“If it’s not great, change it.”
