Eight Years Ago, Keith Urban Unknowingly Changed the Life of a Young Singer.
Back in 2016, during a concert in Edmonton, Canada, Keith Urban was in the middle of his performance when he spotted a sparkly guitar sign that caught his eye. It turned out to be held up by two little girls who were sisters, and Urban chose to invite them up on stage in front of 20,000 fans.
At the time, one of the sisters was a 14-year-old named Hailey Benedict, and little did she know that her night was about to become even more unbelievable.
As the sisters stepped onto the stage, Urban handed Hailey the microphone. While getting to know the two young fans, he asked Hailey what she wanted to be when she grew up. She replied that she wanted to be a singer-songwriter, which was the best response Urban could have hoped for.
After asking if she wrote her own songs and played guitar, and receiving a yes to both, Urban knew exactly what to do. To Hailey’s surprise, he requested a guitar be brought out so she could show off her skills right in the middle of his concert in front of the entire arena.
The 14-year-old then sang an original song, which we have only been able to assume was a highlight of her life.
Well, now, we know for a fact that this special moment changed Hailey’s life forever.
Hailey Recently Got the Chance to Reconnect With Urban and Share Exciting News About Her Music Career.
In a video posted to her Instagram page back in September of this year, Hailey is seen meeting Urban for the first time since that night he brought her and her sister on stage. This time, Hailey shared with Urban that she had continued to pursue her music career after that unforgettable experience and has now signed a record deal with Big Loud Records in Nashville, TN.

“That moment changed the trajectory of my career forever and I’ve always been so grateful to Keith for taking a chance on that wide eyed 14 year old girl who always wanted to be a “singer-songwriter,” Hailey wrote in the caption if the video.
After Hailey tells him the amazing news, Urban starts cheering and clapping.
“That’s incredible!” he exclaimed.
Getting emotional, Hailey tells him that it was his kind act of bringing her on stage that inspired her to continue her music career.
“I trust ya, if it wasn’t me it would have been somebody else,” Urban assured her. “When you’re ready, you’re ready.”
