A few days before Christmas, Katelyn Brown showed off her beautiful voice by singing “Grown-Up Christmas List” and shared the video on social media.
Before she was Mrs. Kane Brown, Katelyn Jae was pursuing her own music career. But, after meeting Kane in 2016 and marrying him two years later, Katelyn put her own singing career on hold to support her husband and raise their family.

While she halted the pursuit of her singing dreams, she went to college to complete her music business degree, something she called “the most rewarding thing I have done for myself thus far.”
“I fell in love with the business side and my husband and I talk a lot about starting our own label or publishing company,” she said in an interview with Berklee Online at the time. “But then I also have this extreme creative side of me that loves to write, who loves to sing.”
In 2022, Katelyn joined her husband for their award-winning duet, “Thank God.” The song marked the first duet from the couple and became the second duet by a married couple to ever top the Country Airplay chart. The first couple was Tim McGraw and Faith Hill who landed at No. 1 with their 1997 hit “It’s Your Love.”
Following Katelyn’s duet with Kane, fans hoped to hear more music from her. On December 22, she treated her Instagram followers to a beautiful rendition of the David Foster & Linda Thompson-Jenner-penned hit, “Grown-Up Christmas List.”
The song, first released in 1989, has been covered by numerous artists over the years like Kelly Clarkson, Natalie Cole, Lauren Alaina, Aretha Franklin, and perhaps most notably, Amy Grant.
Accompanied only by piano and backed by friend Laura Thorson, Katelyn Brown sang a beautiful rendition of her own. Fans responded by begging Katelyn for a solo album or a Christmas duets album with Kane.
