Hear Jimmy Buffett’s Hilarious, Tropical Spin On The Holiday Classic, “Twelve Days Of Christmas”
We sadly lost Jimmy Buffett on September 1, 2023. But knowing him, he wouldn’t want his fans to dwell in sadness. Instead, he’d want them to find joy in everyday things…and the songs he left behind.
Some of those songs include covers of beloved Christmas tunes such as “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “White Christmas.” Both were featured on Buffett’s second Christmas album, ‘Tis the SeaSon.
The album also contains Buffett’s unique rendition of the classic song “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” He gave the tune a tropical spin (of course) and called it the “Parrothead Version.”
For those who don’t know, Buffett’s devoted fans proudly refer to themselves as Parrotheads.
From Flip Flops To Cheeseburgers, Jimmy Buffett’s “Twelve Days Of Christmas” Is Perfectly Themed For Him & His Fans
While the traditional “Twelve Days of Christmas” opens with a partridge in a pear tree, Buffett’s version opens with a purple parrot in a palm tree. The hilarity continues from there, as Buffett lists more items that he and his fans would surely love to receive as Christmas gifts.

He lists five cheeseburgers, nine pairs of flip flops, and twelve Landshark Lagers, as just a few examples. Overall, the song is a fun, comical journey that is sure to have y’all singing along in no time at all.
Which one of the gifts in Buffett’s song would you be most excited to receive for Christmas this year? The five cheeseburgers are pretty enticing…though we’re not sure how good they’d be after being wrapped up under the tree…
