Jelly Roll Recently Addressed The U.S. Senate During A Hearing About The Fentanyl Crisis
Jelly Roll traveled a long road to get to where he is today. While he’s now a CMA Award-winner and Grammy nominee, he was previously a drug dealer and criminal who spent time behind bars.

Since gaining a larger platform, Jelly Roll has used his voice to speak about issues that matter to him. One of those issues is the fentanyl crisis in the United States.
The singer recently addressed the Senate in a hearing on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs titled “Stopping the Flow of Fentanyl: Public Awareness and Legislative Solutions.”
He spoke in support of the Fentanyl Eradication and Narcotics Deterrence (FEND) Off Fentanyl Act, which would place financial sanctions on drug traffickers in the hopes of interrupting the flow of opioids coming from places such as Mexico and China.
During his five-minute statement, he shared his unique perspective as a former dealer who’s witnessed the devastating effects of illegal drugs firsthand:
“I am not here to defend the use of illegal drugs,” he said. “I also recognize the unique paradox of my history as a drug dealer…I was a part of the problem. I am here now standing as a man that wants to be a part of the solution.“

He Relied On His Wife Bunnie Xo For Support When He Spoke In Front Of The U.S. Senate
Jelly Roll had the support of his wife, Bunnie Xo, when he spoke in front of the Senate. Bunnie, a former call girl, shared a video of them holding hands and walking into the hearing.
She captioned the clip, “Just an ex d*ug dealer & ex call girl skipping into Congress to start a revolution.”

Bunnie sat behind her husband while he spoke during the Senate hearing. She later shared another video showing the sweet and subtle way she offered him support during his statement.
The video shows Jelly Roll reaching behind him to grab Bunnie’s outstretched foot. “When he’s nervous & you’re his emotional support human so he keeps reaching for you,” she wrote over the clip.
Jelly Roll left an affectionate comment on the post, writing, “I’m more in love with you 8 years later than I’ve ever been.”
Bunnie kept her foot stretched out the entire time so her husband could reach back and touch her whenever he needed some comfort. You can watch the clip below.
