Jelly Roll Reacts Upon Learning About His First-Ever Grammy Nominations
There’s no doubt that 2023 was Jelly Roll’s breakout year. Now, 2024 is already shaping up to be another great year for the “Need a Favor” singer.
This year, Jelly Roll won three CMT Music Awards, four People’s Choice Country Awards, and the CMA Award for New Artist of the Year. He just took home the latter award on Wednesday (November 8).
“There’s something poetic about a 39-year-old man winning New Artist of the Year. I don’t know where you’re at in your life or what you’re going through, but I want to tell you to keep going, baby. I want to tell you that success is on the other side. I want to tell you it’s gonna be okay. I want to tell you that the windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror for a reason,” he said in his powerful acceptance speech.
Jelly Roll Earned A Country Nomination & An All-Genre Nomination At The 2024 Grammy Awards
Then, the nominees for the 2024 Grammy Awards were announced on Friday (November 10). Jelly Roll earned two nods…the first of his career.
Jelly Roll’s “Save Me” collaboration with Lainey Wilson was nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Additionally, Jelly Roll earned a nomination in the all-genre Best New Artist category.

A tearful Jelly Roll shared a video on social media reacting to his first-ever Grammy nominations. In the caption, he said:
“I’m embarrassed to post this but my wife says honesty and rawness got me this far … I’ll post a more complete thought about this when I get my head together. I just never would’ve imagined.”
Through his tears, an emotional Jelly Roll addressed his fans, saying:
“The greatest honor an artist could ever hear, is they’ve been nominated for a Grammy. I got to hear that this morning…I ain’t cried like this since my daddy died…I tried to make this video seven times y’all…I love y’all man.”
