Jelly Roll and his family are in need of prayers as Bunnie Xo’s father’s fight against cancer worsens.
It’s safe to say that the recent weeks have been a rollercoaster for Jelly Roll, his wife Bunnie Xo, and their family. On November 8th, Jelly Roll took home the award for CMA New Artist of the Year which catapulted him into a flurry of press and attention.
However, it’s not all awards and celebrations for the rapper-turned-country singer and his wife. On Tuesday (Nov 14) Bunnie Xo shared a series of Instagram stories revealing that her father, Bill, had been moved to hospice care amid his battle with stage 4 cancer.
Bunnie Xo first shared the news of Bill’s condition in September with an Instagram post saying:
“I received one of the worst calls yesterday that shook me to my core. My dad has been silently battling Stage 4 cancer for the past year alone w/just his wife.”

New updates came in response to negative comments from an internet follower.
Since the initial news, Bunnie Xo has chosen to keep most details of Bill’s health battle private. However, when an internet follower made negative comments implying that Bunnie’s behavior was inappropriate for someone whose father is “laid up in a hospital dying,” she quickly put the naysayer in their place, reminding them that they are only privy to the aspects of her family’s story that she chooses to share online.
In the Instagram stories, Bunnie can be seen visiting her father’s bedside and giving him a long hug. She adds:
“Not only am I moving an entire house & trying to make it a home for my family while trying to smile thru heartbreak … I’m making sure my father wants for nothing. I’ve been so blessed to have this time w/him and I thank GOD for helping heal my inner little girl as well as my dad’s inner child.“
Jelly Roll and his family are fighting this battle together.
In a recent interview, Jelly Roll acknowledged that they are aware of the severity of Bill’s condition and know that he is nearing the end of his life. He shared that Bunnie is going to great lengths to care for her father and be sure he is comfortable. She even moved him from Houston to Nashville and set up a new medical team for his aid.
Bunnie Xo has shown that she is not one to back down from a fight, and after the criticism that inspired the aforementioned Instagram stories, she shared an additional response to Facebook:
