Jelly Roll stopped singing his popular song “Need A Favor” to bring attention to a fan who had passed out.
Jelly Roll was performing a sold-out show at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he performed 21 songs including his hit songs “Son of a Sinner,” “Need A Favor,” and even a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man.” This show is part of Jelly Roll’s Backroad Baptism Tour.
While he was in Virginia Beach, Jelly Roll visited prisoners. As a former prisoner himself, it really hit home.

Jelly Roll Stops Show Mid-Song
Jelly Roll was singing one of his most popular songs, “Need A Favor,” when he noticed a fan passed out in the crowd. Immediately, he told his band, “Stop the music!”
As he pointed to the fan, he told security, “We got somebody down right here.”
The crowd started applauding him for looking out for his fans’ safety when it has been in the headlines that not all artists do that. He also asked that someone get the fan some water.
“I’ll stop the show for anybody to make sure they’re safe,” he said. “I don’t care what song I’m singing. I love you. I want you to feel better.”
He made a joke to lighten the mood, saying, “In fact, not only do I want you to get some water and feel better, I want you to get some water, feel better, come back and start drinking again!”
Of course, the crowd cheered extra loud after that comment.
