Jelly Roll has embarked on a health journey with some big goals in sight
As Jelly Roll reaches new milestones in his music career, he is working behind the scenes to improve his physical and mental health. The rapper-turned-country star has made it no secret that he has struggled with addiction and weight gain throughout his life.
In January, he partnered with fitness trainer and biologist Gary Brecka for the ambitious goal of losing 250lbs in 12-14 months. As the months passed, he set and accomplished a goal of completing a 5k.
In October, Jelly Roll revealed that he had officially lost more than 100lbs! He accomplished this by working closely with a nutritionist, going on daily walks, and playing basketball with his crew while on the road.
The following month, the “I Am Not Okay” singer shared on the Pat McAfee Show that that number had increased to 120lbs lost.
Jelly Roll announces a new goal in his weight loss journey
During a recent visit to his wife Bunnie Xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast, Jelly Roll shared that he has his sights set on a new goal.
“I wanna be on the cover of Men’s Health by March 2026. That’s my new goal. I want to have one of the biggest transformations.”
The 40-year-old is known for his authenticity and transparency. He explains that his decision to share his weight loss publicly stemmed from a desire to be honest about his struggles and “bring people along” with him on the journey.
“What I want the world to know, and I want the people to see, Bunnie, is that I didn’t become successful because of my weight, I became successful in spite of it. I somehow managed to be this successful carrying 550 pounds. That’s insane.”
