Jelly Roll Gave A Passionate Acceptance Speech At The CMA Awards

An emotional Jelly Roll delivered a passionate acceptance speech while holding his trophy. He said:

There’s something poetic about a 39-year-old man winning New Artist of the Year. I don’t know where you’re at in your life or what you’re going through, but I want to tell you to keep going, baby. I want to tell you that success is on the other side. I want to tell you it’s gonna be okay. I want to tell you that the windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror for a reason.

Jelly Roll also thanked his wife, Bunnie Xo, saying, “I got a thousand people to thank, but most importantly my Lord and my wife — I love you so much, you changed my life, baby.”

Unfortunately, Jelly Roll Broke His CMA Trophy & It Shattered

Sadly, Jelly Roll didn’t have his CMA trophy for long before he dropped it…and it broke. He hadn’t even brought it home yet!

The X (formerly Twitter) account for On the Red Carpet shared a photo of Jelly Roll’s broken trophy, which shattered into several pieces. On the Red Carpet reassured all of Jelly Roll’s fans that he will get a replacement trophy.

Guess who dropped and broke his best new artist #CMAawards? Yes, @JellyRoll615 but don’t worry, he will get a replacement. #JellyRoll,” they said.

Once he gets his replacement trophy, Jelly Roll already knows where it’s going in his home. He told reporters backstage:

I have a room that is the stuff that has become to mean the most to me,” he explained. “The family of Gary Rossington, the late great guitar player from Lynyrd Skynyrd, gifted me one of his guitars out of his vault. I have it right next to my Craig Morgan handwritten lyric sheet. Which is right next to Eric Church’s note he gave me the first time I opened up for him, and it’s signed…that’s really the memories I’ll cherish forever. So this award doesn’t just represent a lifetime of hard work, it’s a memory I’ll forever have sitting there drinking beers with Zach Bryan, kicking it next to Post Malone and my beautiful wife. I’ll think of this forever. And I can relive it in 4K any time I wanna go on Hulu.”

Congratulations to Jelly Roll on his big win at the 2023 CMA Awards! We hope he gets his replacement trophy soon!
