Rising country star Jelly Roll is known for being open and transparent about his troubled past, including his challenges with drug abuse and run-ins with the law. Having personal experience spending time behind bars, Jelly Roll now makes it a priority to visit dentition centers nationwide to bring hope and encouragement to those incarcerated.

While traveling the country for his Beautifully Broken Tour, Jelly Roll and his wife Bunnie Xo paid a visit to the Pulaski County Detention Center before his show in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Bunnie shared a recap video from the day. The joy on the inmates’ faces was evident when the couple walked into the room. Jelly played an acoustic set for the women, and they can be heard passionately singing along with his hit song, “Save Me.”

Bunnie reflected on the experience and said:

“Today was absolutely chicken soup for the soul, man. To be able to bring smiles to their faces at probably one of the lowest times of their lives means everything to me. And they all had the best personalities.”

She added:

“I’ve realized more and more lately that God has given us these platforms to give back, not to receive, and that is what I plan on doing alongside my husband.”

Jelly Roll paid it forward at a local Little Rock restaurant

Inmates were not the only people who were surprised by Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo during their visit to Arkansas. Prior to his sold-out show at Simmons Bank Arena, the Tennessee native fueled up at Gus’s Fried Chicken in Little Rock.

He reminisced back to the early days of his career when he used to play at the Rev Room, the venue adjacent to Gus’s. To celebrate how far he has come, Jelly Roll shared a video online letting fans know that he would cover the cost of food for anyone who came to the restaurant that afternoon.

But Jelly Roll did not stop there. After buying out the chicken shop, the singer blessed the staff with a massive $7,500 tip.

Jelly Roll is no stranger to these random acts of kindness. In two recent instances, he left a $700 tip at a lemonade stand and later gave a $1,000 tip to a Whataburger employee. Bravo, Jelly Roll!
