Fans of air travel will love this other worldly airplane concept that is the brain child of Tony Holmsten. Thanks to new animation technology, dreamers like Holmsten can get a clear idea of what it would be like to fly on a gigantic cross between a cruise ship, luxury resort, and an airplane.

The Sky Cruise would accommodate more than 5,000 guests, could stay airborne for several years at a time (thanks to nuclear power), and would come complete with a shopping mall, fine dining options, sports centers, playgrounds, bars and theaters.

The concept aircraft would be kept aloft by twenty electric engines powered by nuclear energy. Travelers prone to motion sickness will be thrilled to know that the airship would use artificial intelligence to avoid air turbulence. A full medical facility would be on board in case of emergencies, or even routine healthcare for guests who opt to stay on the aircraft for the long-term.

A “big hall” features a 360-degree view above the clouds. An external elevator would move guests from the main aircraft to the top of the hall tower that looks like something straight out of Star Trek.

Since the Sky Cruise rarely lands, guests are delivered via jetliners that take off from airports around the world and land on the gigantic flying cruise ship.

While the Sky Cruise is nothing more than a futuristic concept at the moment, we never know when we might get the opportunity to travel through the air for weeks or months on end with everything we need to have the ultimate flying experience.
