Music City lives up to its name, with live music in every kind of establishment across the city – even the airport. Travelers at the Nashville International Airport were in for a big surprise on Saturday afternoon (March 2) when they unsuspectingly passed through Concourse C and heard the musical stylings of none other than Keith Urban.
The country music superstar played a surprise pop-up set on a small stage in the food court to celebrate the release of his newest song “Messed Up Like Me.”
Keith Urban teamed up with the Nashville Airport to pull off the surprise
Shortly after Urban took the stage, the official Instagram account of the Nashville International Airport (BNA) posted a clip of the performance, saying:
“You never know who will popup at BNA! Keith Urban is currently on the BNA Live Stage in the C Concourse Food Court!”

Before long, the concourse was filled with astonished fans singing and swaying along to the impromptu concert. Urban shared a series of videos online recounting the experience. He wrote:
“From the baggage claim to a REAL STAGE !!!! Sooooo fun celebrating the release of ‘Messed Up As Me’ with loads of you in Concourse C yesterday and a massive thank you to everyone at @flynashville for helping us pull off the surprise.”
In addition to “Messed Up As Me” the Australian born country star treated the crowd to “Somebody Like You,” “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” and other hit songs.

This was not Keith Urban’s first time playing in an airport
During the mini show, Keith Urban told the story of a time when he played at a small regional airport in Australia long before his career took off. He recalled the airport manager telling him that the “little strip of carpet” in the middle of the baggage claim carousel is where he would play.
At the time, they thought it was a great gig, until the loud buzzer from the conveyor belt began to continuously interrupt them while they played.
