The iconic ‘Home Alone’ house has hit the market, and now, for a hefty price, it can be yours.
This famous residence, located at 671 Lincoln Ave. in Winnetka, Illinois, became known as the home where Macaulay Culkin played Kevin McCallister, an 8-year-old boy who was left behind during his family’s trip to Paris in the beloved 1990 film. Now, the property is up for sale for the first time in 12 years.
Constructed in 1921, this impressive house spans 9,126 square feet on 0.53 acres of land and is currently listed for $5.25 million by Coldwell Banker Realty’s Dawn McKenna Group. The group shared a video on their official Instagram page, guiding viewers through the home by blending scenes from the classic movie with footage of the renovated property. The listing highlights that while the home retains its familiarity to fans, the sellers have nearly doubled the livable space over the years.
The current owners of the property purchased the famous home in 2012 for $1.58 million, and it underwent a complete renovation and expansion in 2018, according to details on Zillow.
During this transformation, special attention was given to preserving the home’s most beloved and iconic features while also adding modern updates to enhance its appeal.
While the Georgian brick home retains its classic exterior appearance, the interior has undergone a complete remodel with state-of-the-art amenities added. Inside, the home includes five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, two living rooms, and a kitchen equipped with two large islands and double ovens. Additional features highlighted in the listing include a three-car garage, cathedral ceilings, a screened-in porch with a fireplace, a first and second floor laundry area and more.
The property also offers entertainment options such as a basketball court complete with a three-point line and a movie theater, which fittingly contains “Home Alone” memorabilia.
