Reba McEntire returns to television with Happy’s Place
Fans of Reba McEntire’s original self-titled sitcom were delighted when the “Fancy” singer announced that she would be starring in and producing a brand-new show. Happy’s Place made its highly-anticipated debut on NBC on October 18th, 2024.
An impressive 4.026 million viewers tuned in to watch the pilot episode. After its initial success, the show was confirmed for a full season containing 18 episodes.
Happy’s Place follows Bobbie, played by McEntire, as she inherits her late father’s restaurant and discovers she has a secret half-sister, Isabella. Bobbie navigates conflict with her newfound family member and wrestles with the realization that her father lived a double life.
Former Reba stars reunite on the new sitcom
Happy’s Place features an all-star cast, including former Reba star Melissa Peterman, McEntire’s real-life boyfriend, Rex Linn, and Yellowstone actor Tokala Black Elk.
Steve Howey, who previously portrayed McEntire’s on-screen son-in-law, Van Montgomery, made a cameo for one episode.
While filming the new show, Howey surprised his former co-stars with a hilarious crossover. See the video below!
A new actress joins the Happy’s Place cast
Some exciting new faces are set to join the Happy’s Place cast this year. TV Line reports that actress Emma Kenney will play Gracie, the daughter of Reba McEntire’s character Bobbie.
The 25-year-old actress is no stranger to television and is known for her roles in Shameless, Roseanne, and The Conners.
Elizabeth Alderfer from United States of AI was originally cast as Gracie, and the reason for the casting change is unknown at this time.
According to the official character description, Gracie is “no-nonsense and somewhat tough. She is in the military and has been deployed overseas. She has just gone on leave and is returning home to Knoxville to visit her mother.”
