Mitchel Musso, best known for his role of Oliver Oken in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, was arrested on Saturday, August 26 (2023) on numerous charges.
According to a report from TMZ, the actor was charged with public intoxication, theft, expired registration, failure to display a driver’s license and violating a promise to appear notice. Musso spent some time in the Rockwall County jail in Texas following the arrest, and has since been released on a $1,000 bond.
The incident happened at the hotel the actor was staying at when he reportedly stole potato chips and refused to pay for them. The complainant advised “an individual who appeared intoxicated entered the hotel, selected a bag of chips and began eating them.” Musso reportedly became verbally abusive and left without paying for the chips. The local authorities caught up to Musso outside of the hotel where he was reportedly under the influence. Law enforcement became aware of his outstanding warrants for failure to appear.
This is the second alcohol-related arrest for the actor. In 2011, Musso was stopped by authorities in Burbank, California, and was arrested and charged with DUI. At the time, Mitchel was under the legal drinking age, but was released due to having no prior record or outstanding warrants. The incident caused Musso’s show PrankStars to be cancelled and put an end to his role in Pair of Kings.

For four seasons he played Oliver, Miley Cyrus’ character’s best friend. Musso also played Oliver in “Hannah Montana: The Movie” in 2009. The actor’s voice may sound familiar as he voiced Jeremy Johnson in the animated series Phineas and Ferb. Mitchel went on to star in the DisneyXD series Pair of Kings for the first two seasons.
