Hannah Harper Becomes An American Idol Favorite

Aspiring singer and mother of three Hannah Harper has quickly become one of the favorites this season on American Idol. After spending much of her life singing gospel and bluegrass music with her family band, she stepped onto the Idol stage determined to pursue her own path as a singer-songwriter.

Hannah grew up traveling and performing with her family’s bluegrass group, gaining years of live performance experience before stepping away from music to focus on raising her children. Later, she began writing songs at home and sharing them online.

Balancing motherhood and music, Hannah shared her story of raising three children while chasing a dream that had long taken a back seat to family life. Her audition performance blended emotion with the vocal control and storytelling she developed through years of family performances.

Her original song, “String Cheese,” resonated with viewers everywhere, and Hannah was quickly identified as one to watch this season.

Hannah’s Emotional “Idol” Songs Of Faith Performance

During last week’s “Songs of Faith” episode, Hannah gave her first live performance of the season with a beautiful rendition of Chris Tomlin’s “At The Cross.”

Hannah, a devout and outspoken Christian, channeled her faith into a moving performance on the show. Her heartfelt medley and powerful lyrics brought tears to the audience, and even left the young mom herself holding back tears by the final note.

Hannah Harper Shares Stunning Easter Performance

On Easter Sunday, Hannah posted a sweet, but powerful performance in her dressing room shower.

“This is the first Easter I can remember not being in a pew,” Hannah wrote in the caption. “We’ve been on set most of the day, just watching church through a livestream in our dressing rooms… but even from a dressing room shower we can still have church.”

The American Idol contestant belted out a beautiful rendition of “He’s Alive,” originally sang by gospel music legend Shirley Caesar. Fans took to the comments to praise her singing, thanking Hannah for the powerful worship.

“You can take the girl out of church, but you can’t take the Church out of the Girl,” one user wrote.

“Amen! Love what you represent in your heart, and Jesus sees you right where you are. Trust his plan for you. You are a lighthouse in your own right for so many lost at sea. Keep shining your light so they can find their way,” another said.
