Gwen Stefani’s 16-year-old son is starting to pursue his country music dreams, and no one is happier than stepdad Blake Shelton.

In July 2024, Zuma, then 15, made his stage debut at Blake Shelton’s Tishomingo, Oklahoma, location of his bar/restaurant/music venue, Ole Red. He performed Zach Bryan’s “Oklahoma Smokeshow” as Shelton beamed with pride off stage.

Nearly a year prior, Stefani’s eldest son, Kingston, made his stage debut at the exact location. The family was raised in music, with all three parents being musicians.

Kingston and Zuma’s parents are Gwen Stefani, pop star and frontwoman of No Doubt, and Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. They have a little brother named Apollo.

After Stefani and Rossdale divorced, Stefani met Shelton on The Voice, and in late 2015, they made their relationship public. Stefani’s children were just 1, 7, and 9 when she and Shelton began dating.

The country star and the boys quickly took to each other, and even though he didn’t officially become their stepdad until he married their mom in 2021, he has played a massive part in raising those boys, and he considers them his sons.

Zuma returned to Ole Red over Thanksgiving weekend to perform two songs.

For the seventh year, Shelton has opened Ole Red’s doors on Thanksgiving weekend to Oklahoma’s own The Swon Brothers, who were members of Team Blake on Season 4 of The Voice. They have made it a tradition to perform for the locals at the Tishomingo Ole Red during the holiday weekend every year.

This year, Shelton had Zuma open for The Swon Brothers, and he introduced the youngster himself.

“Last time around, we had a special guest come out and do a couple of songs before The Swon Brothers would go on, and if you live here locally, you might have seen him this summer,” he said. “It’s actually our middle son, Zuma, who’s starting to take a swing at some country music, which makes me very happy. And he sounds incredible, so get ready for your chance to say you saw Zuma Rossdale way back when.”

Zuma walked on stage in brown cowboy boots and a black cowboy hat to much applause. The audience was excitedly biting as he worked on getting his guitar plugged in and sounding okay.

He dove into a cover of Zach Top’s “I Never Lie” from his 2024 album Cold Beer & Country Music, followed by his slowed-down take on Brooks & Dunn’s “Neon Moon.”

The crowd loved every second of the performance, and Zuma loves being on stage, just like his mom, dad, and stepdad. We can’t wait to see what his future holds.

Until then, watch Zuma perform below.
