Gwen Stefani made her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2020 alongside her now-husband, Blake Shelton. But due to the state of the world at the time, their performance was done virtually.

Stefani finally got the chance to perform at the Opry in person this year. Shelton, who is an Opry member, performed during a Voice-themed night that also featured past contestants Jake Hoot, Todd Tilghman, and Wendy Moten.

Partway through his set, Shelton referred to a performance that was long overdue. That’s when he started singing his and Stefani’s first #1 country duet, “Nobody but You.”

Stefani surprised the packed Opry house by strolling out onstage to sing her part of the song. The audience went wild, and gave her a standing ovation.

After the performance, Stefani said, “This is one of those things you don’t dream about if you’re me. Then all of a sudden, I’m up here with Blake Shelton. It’s a miracle. I’m so grateful. Thank you so much.”

Stefani and Shelton went on to sing their second #1 country collaboration, “Happy Anywhere.” The crowd gave Stefani another standing ovation before she left the stage.

Shelton said he was “absolutely beside [himself]” after seeing the crowd’s warm response to Stefani’s onstage Opry debut. “Congratulations @gwenstefani on not one but TWO standing ovations for your Grand Ole @Opry stage debut!!!! That was an incredible moment to witness,” he said.

Stefani later reflected on her “perfect” experience at the Opry and posted a slideshow of photos from that day. The caption read:

a perfect night at the @opry…i’m so honored to have performed on such a legendary stage…plus @blakeshelton is the perfect duet partner…thx for having us nashville.”
