Voice fans were shocked when longtime coach Blake Shelton announced he’s leaving the show after Season 23 ends next year. Shelton is the only coach who has been with the show from the start, and hasn’t missed a season. He’s also won more times than any other coach.
But Shelton feels it’s time to move on. In his announcement, he thanked everyone for making his Voice journey so amazing, including the staff, host Carson Daly, the contestants, and the other coaches.
He shared how The Voice impacted his life in so many ways…including the fact that he met his now-wife, Gwen Stefani, through the show:
“I’ve made lifelong bonds with Carson and every single one of my fellow coaches over the years, including my wife Gwen Stefani!” Shelton said.

Shelton and Stefani are currently serving as coaches together on Season 22 of The Voice. Stefani commented on her husband’s choice to leave the show, writing on his Instagram post:
“i am so proud of you and so blessed to have found u. your talent brings joy to the hearts of so many people and i am so lucky to be part of ur life’s journey.”
