The seven plane crash victims were honored during a public memorial service at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina, on January 16. Additionally, a livestream of the service played on NASCAR.com, the NASCAR Facebook page, the NASCAR Channel, and the NASCAR YouTube channel.
Then, Greg’s friend, Cleetus McFarland (real name Lawrence Garrett Mitchell), hosted a ceremonial “Burnout for Biff” in downtown Mooresville later in the day.
Burglary Reported At Greg Biffle’s Home Following His Death
Unfortunately, in the midst of this devastating time for Greg Biffle’s family, a burglary occurred at his home.
An incident report obtained by WBTV shows that the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office learned about a burglary at Greg’s estate, located along Doolie Road in Mooresville, on January 8. The report, filed by Cristina’s mother, Cathy Grossu, was made three weeks after the plane crash.
The report lists the items known to be missing from the home: $30,000 in cash and a backpack.
On top of that, two guns and some NASCAR memorabilia are “possibly missing” from the residence. The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office plans to work with local race teams to track the missing memorabilia and determine if it was stolen.
The Sheriff’s Office emailed a statement about the burglary at the Biffle residence to WBTV, which reads:
“Currently, no arrest has been made. Investigators are continuing to review all evidence, including digital and other available information, as the case remains under investigation.”
You can view a copy of the incident report in WBTV’s article.
911 Call Released After Burglary At The Biffle Home
On January 16, TMZ obtained the (intentionally distorted) audio from the 911 call following the burglary at the Biffle home. The unidentified caller said she noticed signs of a break-in when she arrived at the home to help clean things up.
“I’m at the house now, and it looks like someone tried to break in,” the caller said. “Yeah, someone tried to kick the doors in.” She added, “It’s upstairs. It’s the doors on the top of the stairs, which is bizarre!“
The caller also mentioned that the Christmas tree had been moved. She didn’t notice anything missing at the time and could see the trophies in Greg Biffle’s office.
Of course, we now know the thief (or thieves) took $30,000 and a backpack from the home, and possibly two guns and some NASCAR memorabilia.
Police Release Surveillance Footage From Burglary At The Biffle Residence

The newly released footage shows the suspected burglar inside the Biffle home, where they remained for a while. The suspect wore a hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and a mask. Watch the surveillance footage below.
WCNC reports that anyone with information about the suspect or the burglary should contact the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office by calling 704-878-3180.
