Retired NASCAR Driver Greg Biffle And His Family Were Killed In A Plane Crash On December 18
Just days before he was killed in a plane crash, Greg Biffle was spreading Christmas cheer on social media.
On Thursday (December 18), reports surfaced that a plane belonging to Greg’s company crashed at the Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina. Initially, it was unknown if Greg, a retired NASCAR driver, was on the plane.
Sadly, an official statement eventually confirmed that Greg was one of the victims. The crash also claimed the lives of Greg’s wife, Cristina, their son, Ryder, Greg’s daughter, Emma, Craig Wadsworth, Dennis Dutton, and Dennis’ son, Jack.

Greg and Cristina were both known for their kindness and generosity. Greg would often jump into action after natural disasters, such as Hurricane Helene, which tore through North Carolina.
He flew his personal helicopter to rescue people after the storm. When certain areas were inaccessible, he dropped supplies from his helicopter to aid the people stranded there.
Greg continued to raise funds for relief efforts long after Helene passed. A local news station, WFMY, referred to him as an “unsung hero” in North Carolina.
His wife, Cristina, also dedicated her time to helping others. Her mom, Cathy Grossu, told PEOPLE that one of her daughter’s final acts was a charitable one. She finished 17 “Santa letters” to families in need this holiday season.
“…she put them in envelopes and finished them all up to get them off to those last 17 families to bring joy to them, and that would be the last thing that she would’ve done,” Cathy said.
Greg Biffle Was Celebrating Christmas And Sharing Holiday Joy On Social Media
Some of Greg Biffle’s final Instagram posts show him celebrating Christmas and sharing that joy with others. On December 1, he kicked off his “12 Days of Biffmas.”
Every day during “Biffmas,” Greg gave away cash and fun prizes to his followers. Some of the prizes were a scooter, a mini Indiana Motorcycle electric bike, a Yeti cooler, and his personal drag Corvette.
Those who wished to enter the giveaways simply had to like, comment, and share his “Biffmas” posts.
On December 13, Greg shared a video of himself speaking to Brandon P, the lucky winner of his Corvette and $1,200 in cash. The video only shows the beginning of the call, when Greg introduced himself to Brandon, who was surely surprised (and thrilled) to learn he was a “Biffmas” winner.

Our hearts go out to Greg Biffle’s loved ones and to the families of all who were killed in the crash on December 18. May they rest in peace.
