It’s that time of year again! Parents are rejoicing and children are crying as another school year gets underway. One grade-schooler has his own way of coping with back-to-school feelings, and he has become a semi-viral star because of it.
A recent video posted by Beverly Pendleton of her grandson Owen is taking the internet by storm. Owen re-wrote the lyrics to Johnny Cash’s hit “Folsom Prison Blues” and made it into “Back To School Blues,” a song that every kid is sure to relate to.
“I don’t know where I’m at.
The sun is coming up.
I ain’t going fishing,
but I ain’t giving up.
I’m stuck in this old class room,
and time keeps dragging on.
When I hear that bell a ringing,
I know my summer’s gone.”
A quick scroll through Owen’s grandmother’s Facebook page reveals the extent of the boy’s talent. In one video, Owen gives Walmart yodel boy Mason Ramsey a run for his money with an impressive take on Hank Williams’ “Lovesick Blues.”
My talented gson!
