Country music fans have fallen in love with Gabby Barrett‘s song “The Good Ones.” She co-wrote the romantic track with Zach Kale, Emily Landis, and Jim McCormick.

“The Good Ones” was released in June 2020 as the second single off of Barrett’s debut album, Goldmine. After a slow burn, the song reached the #1 spot on both of the Billboard country charts. It also claimed the 19th spot on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.

Over a year after its release “The Good Ones” is experiencing continued popularity. Its heartwarming music video won the award for Female Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards this summer.

The song itself was nominated for two awards at the 2021 CMA Awards: Single of the Year and Song of the Year. Barrett also earned two nominations as an artist for New Artist of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year.

Those who have followed Barrett for a long time are surely impressed to see how far she’s come in a short amount of time. Just three years ago she was a contestant on American Idol, and ended up placing third.

Now, Barrett is one of country music’s rising stars. On top of being a multi-nominee at the CMA Awards, she had the opportunity to perform “The Good Ones” for the millions of viewers who tuned in to watch the ceremony.

Barrett was a vision in a white dress with a long, flowing cape. She performed along with a group of musicians who played violins and other string instruments.

There was also a special person by Barrett’s side on stage…her husband, Cade Foehner. He performed guitar and sang backup for her throughout the performance.
