Dave Coulier Gets Two Cancer Diagnoses In Less Than Two Years
In December, actor Dave Coulier revealed that he had been diagnosed with a second form of cancer, just seven months after overcoming his first.
Best known for his role as Joey in Full House, Coulier had previously received a Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis in November 2024 after noticing a golfball-sized enlarged lymph node near his groin.

After beating that disease, the 66-year-old regularly received check-ups to monitor his health and screen for any signs that the cancer may return. It was during one of those routine exams that the doctors discovered cancerous cells in a mass at the base of his tongue.
Ultimately, this was determined to be early-stage, P16-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma, a type of tongue cancer. He told TODAY:
“To go through chemotherapy and feel that relief of whoa, it’s gone, and then to get a test that says, well, now you’ve got another kind of cancer … it is a shock to the system.”

Dave Coulier Beats Cancer For The Second Time
Two months after going public with his diagnosis, Dave Coulier has shared the incredible news that he is cancer-free once again! He gave an update on his health during a visit to Good Morning America on World Cancer Day (Feb 4), confirming that he is in remission from both cancers. He told host and cancer survivor Robin Roberts:
“[Radiation] has totally different side effects. It can steal parts of your life away from you, psychologically, emotionally, and certainly physically. And I wasn’t going to allow cancer to do that. I was going to laugh my way through it and keep the people that I love close to me. And that helps.”
The actor and comedian underwent 35 rounds of radiation treatment before the end of the year. His wife, Melissa Bring, was by his side throughout the process. Additionally, his friend and former Full House costar, John Stamos, traveled to Michigan to visit and provide support during his earlier cancer treatment.
Coulier emphasizes that early detection may have saved his life and urges fans to get checked.
“I feel as though I can help people. I never wanted to be the poster boy for cancer, believe me. But now I feel like I can encourage people to get those prostate exams and mammograms. Talk to your doctors and get ahead of this.”
