Country Singer Emily Ann Roberts’ “Worst Nightmare” Came True During A Recent Show Of Hers
Anything can happen during a live show, and Emily Ann Roberts learned that firsthand when she had a wardrobe malfunction on stage.
Roberts, who first gained fame as a finalist on Season 9 of The Voice, was in Georgia on Sunday, October 26, performing for a sold-out crowd at City Winery in Atlanta.
The singer started the night in a sparkly pink and green matching outfit with flowy pants and a halter top. But not long after she began performing, her adorable outfit betrayed her.
The “Pretty in Pink” singer’s top came undone, nearly revealing her bare chest to the crowd.
Roberts later shared a video on her social media, telling her fans all about the embarrassing story
Even though the moment will probably stay in her mind forever, she managed to laugh it off and make light of the situation.
“So tonight was the night that I almost showed my bare b—ies to a whole sold-out crowd,” Roberts said quietly to the camera, trying to keep the video as PG as possible.
“I had to whisper it because there are children on here,” she added.
She went on to say that the mishap happened just two songs into her full set. At first, everything was going smoothly, and she was feeling confident in her “bad girl outfit.”
“Well, It’s held together by three little flimsy snags,” she said referring to her halter top.
Suddenly, while performing her hit song “Chickens,” one of those snags popped open. The timing was almost too perfect, actually, and Roberts couldn’t help but joke that the wardrobe malfunction fit the song’s lyrics a little too well.
“I about went to bed with chickens and a bunch of strangers tonight,” she said.
Luckily, she acted quickly and caught her top before it fully came undone.
“We made it through the song. We resnapped ourselves, and then I hollered at my husband,” she added.
To prevent any more issues, she threw on a sweater over her top and wore that for the rest of the show. It wasn’t necessarily the outfit she planned to wow the crowd in, but she still made the most of the night.
“For the rest of my 90-minute show, I sang like this,” she explained as she put the sweater back on for the video and began dancing. “Hot, right? That’s how I felt. Hot.”
But, as they say, the show must go on, and Roberts didn’t miss a beat for the rest of her time on stage.
As Parade noted, she even put the wardrobe nightmare behind her and gave a little girl an unforgettable moment by bringing her on stage to lead the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday.”
