Grab your camo hats and duck calls! The first trailer for The Blind, the upcoming Robertson family movie, has just been released!
Devoted fans of Duck Dynasty will be excited to see this film that delves into the life of beloved Robertson family patriarch, Phil Robertson.
In this 35-second teaser, Phil and his lovely wife, Miss Kay, sit in their favorite chairs from home on the movie’s Louisiana set.
Miss Kay describes to viewers what The Blind is all about, saying that they’re opening up about everything and telling their story from Phil’s younger years. Between the ages of 18 and 28, Robertson struggled with substance abuse and infidelity before turning to God.
It was a powerful journey of redemption and transformation that led Phil to build the Duck Commander duck-call manufacturing business that turned into the empire we came to know and love.
“This movie shows me at my worst moments. It wasn’t easy for me to watch, especially at first,” Robertson told Movieguide. “But, The Blind is also a movie about love and hope. If a scoundrel like me can be redeemed, then believe me, so can you. There’s nothing you’ve done that’s beyond God’s grace.”
“It was important to us that the film be real,” said Willie Robertson, Robertson’s son. “The transformation of Phil proves that anyone can change and that there is always hope.”
For those of you wondering about the title, “The Blind”… It could refer to Phil’s “dark days,” when he was lost and living a dark life of sin.
Or perhaps it’s a nod to where you might find the whole Robertson family during duck season, hiding out in their blinds, waiting for ducks.
The Blind is produced by GND Media Group and Tread Lively, which happens to be owned by Willie and Korie Robertson. It’s heartwarming to see the Robertson family involved in bringing their own story to the big screen.
