Michigan-Based Country Music Festival Cancels For Second Consecutive Year

Bad news for country music fans looking forward to the annual Faster Horses Music Festival: it’s been confirmed that the three-day event will not return in 2026.

The Faster Horses Music Festival has been held at Michigan International Speedway during the summer since 2013. In past years, more than 40,000 country music fans have attended to see some of their favorite artists, with lineups featuring big names like Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, and many more.

Despite the festival’s proven popularity in the past, though, this will be the second year in a row that it has been canceled.

The festival shared the news on their social media. However, it left many fans puzzled because they didn’t provide a clear reason for why it’s not coming back.

“Faster Horses Music Festival will not return in 2026. While the festival will not take place this year, we are proud of the memories created and the impact it has had on live music in Michigan,” the statement read. “We remain grateful to the fans, artists, partners and the Michigan International Speedway community who have supported Faster Horses over the years.”

Is Faster Horses Music Festival Gone For Good?

At this point, fans are starting to speculate that the Faster Horses Music Festival may not ever come back.

The wording of this latest statement seems like it could be the end of an era, whereas the one issued in 2025 carried a little more hope for the festival’s future.

Back then, organizers said they were taking a year off to focus on replanning and making the event “bigger and better.”

“We love our friends at Michigan International Speedway, and all of those behind the scenes,” a portion of the 2025 statement read. “While we hope to bring you something in the future, for now we encourage you to keep the community strong and support live music in Michigan!”

Now, however, there doesn’t seem to be any talk of looking ahead.

Adding to the speculation, the festival’s official website hadn’t been updated since that 2025 announcement.

So far, though, there hasn’t been any official confirmation that clearly states the Faster Horses Music Festival is gone for good.
