Brian Wood from Dania Beach, Florida is the owner of All American Gator and is known for selling alligator and python leather products. Since his business has slowed down due to the stay-at-home order, he’s adapted to making some very stylish face masks to help keep people safe from COVID-19.

“People are going to have to cover their faces, and unfortunately the situation may last longer than we imagined.” Brian told the Miami Herald. “Some people want to make a fashion statement even during this pandemic, so I want to give them options.”

The masks are made from python skin which does not actually provide any protection by themselves, but when he adds an air filtration system to them they work very similarly to the N95 mask. The filtration systems block small airborne particles the same way medical professionals’ masks do that are worn to treat COVID-19 patients.

The masks range from $90 to $120 which cover the price of the skin and manufacturing cost. As of now, the masks are made with the original colors of the snake but he’s also dying the skins with bright colors for a more fashionable look. He is also considering making them out of alligator skin as well.

“The designs are still in the early stages and I want to take advantage of the supply we have here not only of python skin, but also alligator and crocodile,” Brian said.
