Emmy Russell and Tyler Ward are expecting Baby #2!
Emmy, an American Idol alum and granddaughter of country music legend Loretta Lynn, announced her pregnancy on Thursday (February 26). The sweet reveal came in a video that shows her surprising her husband with the news.
“Secrets out!!” Emmy captioned the clip, which shows her handing her positive pregnancy test to her and Tyler’s one-year-old daughter, Taylor.
Emmy called Tyler into the room, saying that they had a surprise. Tyler was so happy to see his daughter that at first, he didn’t seem to notice what she was holding.
But once he spotted the pregnancy test, his face lit up with joy. He got emotional as he picked Taylor up and went to hug Emmy. Then, in a funny moment, little Taylor threw the pregnancy test on the ground, making her parents laugh.

The Couple Welcomed Their First Child In 2025
Emmy and Tyler were together for quite some time before they secretly married ahead of Taylor’s birth. Taylor entered the world on January 31, 2025.
Emmy experienced some complications after giving birth. She lost over a liter of blood, and needed a blood transfusion before she could come home from the hospital.
Tyler and Emmy didn’t share their daughter’s name at first. But once they did, they also revealed its meaning. They chose the name Taylor Raydiant Ward.
Emmy told PEOPLE that before she knew she was pregnant, she heard God tell her, “Emmy, you’re pregnant, and your baby is Radiant.”

Tyler’s middle name is Ray, and it’s a family name. So they were pretty set on including “Radiant” in their daughter’s name somehow.
Then, when she was born, they were surprised to see how much she looked like Tyler. So they named her after him, in a sense. “‘Why don’t we just do it, ‘Taylor Ray Ward?‘” Tyler recalled Emmy asking. “And my name is Tyler Ray Ward. So her name is Taylor Raydiant Ward.”
Little Taylor put her parents through a scare in July, when she started experiencing some “small spasms.” She was in the hospital for a while, but thankfully, she seems to be doing much better now.
