Actress Ayo Edebiri ran into Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman on the Emmy Awards red carpet, and the actress could not hold back her excitement!
The 76th Emmy Awards took place on Sunday, September 15 at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles.
Television’s finest all flocked to Los Angeles to honor the best of the best in prime-time television. Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman were in attendance to present an award for and also promote their upcoming sitcom, Happy’s Place.
Peterman and McEntire showed the audience why they are reuniting for a new show, nearly 20 years after Reba, with their hilarious bit while they presented Outstanding Scripted Variety Show. The dynamic duo joked that they didn’t have a teleprompter to remember the nominees in the category. There were only two: Saturday Night Live and Last Night with John Oliver.

Before their appearance during the show, the pair walked the red carpet together.
While on the red carpet, celebrities will likely run into other celebrities they have never met before. That’s exactly what happened last night when The Bear actress Ayo Edebiri ran into McEntire and Peterman!
Edebiri, who was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, nearly bumped into Peterman walking down the carpet. Once she realized who it was, she said, “Oh my God!” and a mere second later, she saw McEntire and said “Oh my God!” even louder.
Edebiri then told McEntire she was going to get emotional because of how much she loved her!
“I’ve spent so many hours of my life watching you,” Edebiri told Peterman and McEntire.
Peterman responded, “Well we’re spending hours with you now,” referring to her starring role on the FX series The Bear.
The trio of funny ladies chatted for a bit and then posed for photos together.
A few minutes later, Edebiri caught up with E! red carpet correspondant Laverne Cox, who brought up the country legend.
“Reba! Please tell me you freaked out when you saw Reba McEntire!” Cox said.
“I absolutely freaked out when I saw Reba McEntire,” The Bear actress replied. “And I am really, really proud of myself for not singing the entire theme song!”
Edebiri deadpanned to the camera and recited, “A single mom who works real hard, who loves her kids and never stops.”
Who knows, maybe this will lead to Edebiri making a cameo on Happy’s Place!
