Drake Milligan returned to the stage Monday night (Feb. 19) to perform on the AGT: Fantasy League series finale.
Drake Milligan, 25, first made a name for himself portraying Elvis Presley on the CMT series, Sun Records. Still in high school at the time, Milligan responded to an open casting call for the part and moved from his home in Texas to Tennessee after landing the role of Elvis.
A year later, Drake competed on American Idol’s 15th season, but dropped out, saying that he wasn’t ready quite yet. He opted to pursue a career in country music, ultimately earning a recording contract and releasing an EP in 2021.
The following year, Drake Milligan auditioned for America’s Got Talent with an original song titled “Sounds Like Something I’d Do.” He earned unanimous approval from the judges and went on to finish the season in third place.
Drake’s appearance on AGT indeed served as a stepping stone for his career. In 2023, he was nominated for CMT’s Male Breakthrough Video of the Year for “Sounds Like Something I’d Do.” He made his Grand Ole Opry debut the same year.
Milligan has returned to perform on the America’s Got Talent stage several times since his season ended, even being invited back to compete on the show’s spinoff, AGT: Fantasy League. He competed this season as a member of Howie Mandell’s Dream Team. Unfortunately, Milligan was eliminated during the second episode after a performance of “Don’t Leave Me Loving You,” a song from his upcoming EP, Jukebox Songs.
Drake was invited back to perform one more time during Monday night’s season finale, and chose to sing “What I Couldn’t Forget,” another original tune from his new EP.
