Duck Dynasty star Rebecca Robertson Loflin had some sad news to share on Thursday (January 5). Her beloved grandmother has passed away.

For those who don’t know Rebecca’s story, she is from Taiwan, and came to live with the Robertson family as a foreign exchange student when she was 16 years old. She ended up making her new home in America, and the Robertsons welcomed her into their family.

Korie and Willie have always considered Rebecca to be their daughter. But she still has a great relationship with her family in Taiwan.

A few months before her 2016 wedding to John Reed Loflin, Rebecca traveled with him to Taiwan so he could see her home country. He also got the chance to spend time with Rebecca’s mother and grandmother.

Rebecca and John Reed now share two children: Zane and Holland. They were preparing to leave on another trip to Taiwan to visit Rebecca’s family when they learned about her grandmother’s death.

“Heaven gained an Angel, just a few days before our planned trip to visit her…” Rebecca shared in a post on social media. “my a-ma (阿嬤) you were the best grandma & the most selfless person I know.”

Rebecca went on to share what she will miss most about her grandma:

“miss you putting a million layers of blankets in the middle of the night on us & walking up and down flights of stairs just to bring us food & perfectly cut/peeled fruits…you would always worry about your kids & grands and put them before yourself. Now you can finally Rest In Peace knowing we are all good.”

You can see Rebecca’s post about her grandmother below. Our hearts and prayers go out to her and her family during this sad time.
